Volunteer with Coast Shelter

Coast Shelter Volunteers

Coast Shelter has the support of over four hundred regular volunteers who give so generously of their time, their energy and their skills and knowledge in providing meals and support to those who come to us for assistance. The efforts of our volunteers and their commitment to assisting those in need in our community helps us to ensure the best possible delivery of services.

Currently, most of our volunteers work in the Donnison Street Restaurant in Gosford providing lunch and dinner to the homeless and those at risk of homelessness within our City.

All of our volunteers are covered either by Coast Shelter's insurance or by their respective group's insurance. Under New South Wales law, every volunteer is required to provide a statement that they are not a prohibited person under The Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998.

Benefits

Volunteers with Coast Shelter not only help their fellow citizens who are doing it a bit tough, but they also get the opportunity to grow their skills and capabilities in a new or different area and to develop a new set of friends.

The satisfaction gained from doing something kind for someone else is an experience that can't be paid for, and when you know that it might make a real difference to someone in your community, then that will benefit not only you, but the whole community.
