Services and Programs
Coast Shelter is a registered charity based on the Central Coast of New South Wales. While essentially being an emergency accommodation Service, Coast Shelter also provides assistance by way of a Restaurant serving free meals to those in need each day.
Coast Shelter is also a strong advocate for social justice, particularly in relation to those on low incomes and suffering "housing stress".
Coast Shelter consists of:
Kara Women & Children's Refuge - a family crisis refuge providing accommodation and support for single women and women with accompanying children.
Coimba Men's Refuge - a crisis men's refuge providing accommodation and support for up to nine men.
Maya Young Women's Refuge - a medium-term young women's refuge providing accommodation and support for up to six young women.
Rumbalara Youth Refuge - a medium-term youth refuge providing accommodation and support for up to six young men or women.
Donnison Street Restaurant - a program which provides meals and support to those in need with the help of local Church and community groups.
Wyong Outreach Program - a program which provides accommodation and support to clients who are moving from refuge life to independent living.
Intoxicated Persons' Program - a program which provides safe accommodation to intoxicated or drug affected homeless men and women.
