About the Central Coast Homeless Family Brokerage Service
The Central Coast Regional Homelessness Action Plan is a comprehensive effort to tackle homelessness across the Region. As a result of the Plan, the NSW Government have funded the Central Coast Homeless Family Brokerage Service for a period of 2 1/2 years.
The Brokerage Service will streamline access to accommodation and homeless services through partnerships between government agencies, businesses and the not-for-profit sector.
An Assessment/Coordination Group will evaluate referrals from agencies to provide a wide range of support to improve service experience and housing security prospects.
The Assessment/Coordination Group will be responsible for:
>> Making decisions on applications for case management brokerage packages
>> Reviewing and developing case management plans with other key support providers, and
>> Periodically reviewing progress of case management plans.
Support Services
The Central Coast Homeless Family Brokerage Service will provide approved integrated case management support for a period of up to 12 months which may include:
>> One off payments for utilities, rent, groceries, etc
>> Emergency medical aid, first aid training, ambulance cover etc
>> Financial support to resume or commence study or employment
>> Child care costs and or after school care for emergencies, respite or other appointments
>> Counselling, psychological and other services
Criteria for Entry
The Central Coast Homeless Family Brokerage Service will follow approved case plans and provide a range of support to the following target groups in the Gosford and Wyong Local Government Areas:
>> Indigenous families
>> Women and children escaping domestic violence
>> Single men and women with accompanying children
>> Families exiting emergency accommodation
>> Young people, with or expecting children
>> People at risk of homelessness
